I downloaded an application from AyumaxSoft, but it won’t open on my Mac. What should I do?

This is a normal security behavior on macOS called “Gatekeeper.” Our applications are safe but may not be code-signed with Apple’s developer certificate, which triggers macOS security protection.

Solution Steps:

  1. When you first try to open the app, you’ll see a message like:
    • [App Name] cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer”
    • OR “[App Name] cannot be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software”
  2. To safely open the application:
    • Go to System Settings (or System Preferences on older macOS)
    • Click Privacy & Security
    • Scroll down to the Security section
    • You should see a message about the blocked app with an “Open Anyway” button
    • Click “Open Anyway”
    • Confirm by clicking “Open” in the dialog that appears
  3. Alternative method:
    • Right-click (or Control+click) on the application
    • Select “Open” from the context menu
    • Click “Open” in the security dialog

Why does this happen?

  • This is NOT a virus or malware issue
  • macOS protects users by blocking unsigned applications by default
  • AyumaxSoft applications are safe and tested
  • This is Apple’s standard security feature called “Gatekeeper”
  • Once you approve the app, it will open normally in the future

Important Notes:

  • ✅ This process is completely normal and safe
  • ✅ You only need to do this once per application
  • ✅ After approval, the app will launch normally
  • ✅ This affects many legitimate applications from independent developers
